Portfolio: Suncraft Energy Systems and Jotron Execute Landmark Contract to Enhance Uganda’s Aviation Communication Infrastructure
KAMPALA, UGANDA – Suncraft Energy Systems, a leader in renewable energy and engineering solutions, is proud to announce the formal execution of a contract in partnership with Jotron, the world-renowned manufacturer of professional communication systems. The project, directed by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), focuses on the comprehensive optimization of VHF (Very High Frequency) Coverage for Class E airspace across Uganda.
As the Entebbe Flight Information Region (FIR) experiences a steady increase in international and domestic flight transitions, the need for robust, interference-free communication has become paramount. This partnership is designed to meet that demand through cutting-edge technology and sustainable infrastructure.
Precision in the Skies
The optimization project targets Class E airspace—a critical segment of controlled airspace where high-altitude transit and approach maneuvers require constant contact between pilots and Air Traffic Control (ATC).
Project Highlights Include:
Deployment of Jotron 7000-Series Radios: Implementation of the industry gold standard for high-performance ground-to-air voice communication.
Gap Analysis & Signal Filling: Comprehensive mapping to identify and eliminate “dead zones” caused by Uganda’s varied geographical terrain.
Compliance: Ensuring all systems exceed the rigorous standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Expert Collaboration
This venture represents a perfect synergy between global innovation and local technical proficiency.
“Our collaboration with Jotron allows us to bring world-class aviation technology to Uganda, while our expertise in energy systems ensures these critical communications stay online regardless of environmental challenges,” said a spokesperson for Suncraft Energy Systems. “We are honored to support the UCAA in making Ugandan skies some of the safest in Africa.”
